Lives are turned upside down …

Everything was perfect before life came to a screeching halt.

When devastating loss flips Amelia’s world on its axis, she loses her spirit. Mel isn’t the only one hurting, though; the members of BAD are also struggling to find their way after that tragic night.

Life goes on …

Amelia’s friends move heaven and earth to help ease her sadness. Knowing she’s on a dangerous precipice, they fight through their own pain to bring her safely to the other side of her grief.

Love can conquer …

Amelia knows bottling up her feelings isn’t helping anything. With love at her fingertips, all she has to do is reach for it. Mel’s loved ones desperately hope she can once again find her way to happiness.

Can Amelia overcome her fears to let love in again, or will she let the weight of that night continue to drown her in sorrow?

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for an unbiased review.

I’m back to review the third and last book in the “The Illusion” series, and I just want to mention how honored I am to have gotten this opportunity. Dee asks us in her Facebook groups if we hate her, and I have to say I definitely do not. She needs to buy me more Kleenex, but that’s another story…

On to my review. There are a lot of words I can use to describe this book. heart-wrenching, angsty, sexy, uplifting, fast-paced – the list goes on. There’s one that comes to mind immediately though, and it’s META. It’s a book that tells the story of a story that’s being written, and in this final tome, the fourth wall is lowered and we see clearly what’s happening in present-day.

Up to this point, Mel has been giving us snippets of the tale, the general feel for what she’s gone through – but not the real story. After finishing the series, I feel like the first two were just a taste. Book three was everything. Dee had to tear Mel down in order to build her back up again, and boy, she did just that.

Mel is the girl who never wanted her walls to come down. She didn’t want to let anyone in, let anybody penetrate that shell around her heart. But against her better judgement, Amelia allowed herself to find a group of misfits that forced her to love them. And just when she made herself vulnerable, fate swooped in and took a big chunk out of it. At the beginning of EP, we’re seeing the fallout from book two’s cliffhanger, and it just. doesn’t. stop.

I simply cannot talk about any of the other characters in this book, because I’m afraid I’ll spill something spoilery – but I *will* say this, if you like angsty epic love stories, READ THESE BOOKS. I loved them so much, and I can’t wait for more from Dee in the future.

And seriously, I want to write so much more in my review, but I just can’t! Go.. go read them now.

Five “read ’em or you’ll be sorry” stars.
